The legends of the mighty samurais have always thrilled our imagination. This story is one of them. Long, long ago there was a great warrior and nobody could defeat him in a battle. Looking for an opponent worthy of his skills, the warrior travelled across all known lands and finally entered the Gates of Shadows. There, in a dark and gloomy realm, he met the souls of all legendary samurais he heard about since his very childhood. Trapped in the underworld, they were possessed by shadows, fighting each other in the endless circle of violence. And since the Gates of Shadows were now open, the army of demons could walk the earth and the world as we know it would be brought to ruin. There was just one person standing in their way – our hero. Assume the role of the valiant shadow fighter and defeat all the evil creatures in a series of breathtaking combats to save the mankind!

Win and evolve

Developers did a great job creating a game where spectacular fights go hand in hand with a rich set of features. Smooth animation, unique Asian-style art and neat slow-mo effects make it fun not only to play Shadow Fight, but also to watch others playing it. There is a great number of moves, tricks and combos available, depending on the chosen fighting style. The controls are pretty minimalistic and intuitive: use the circle on the left as a virtual joystick to direct your character across the arena and the two buttons on the right for punching and kicking. Combining them will allow you to perform a wide range of special moves that, along with long sequences of combos, will up your budget. Coins and crystals earned in matches can be spent on buying new weapons and armor. The range of weapons available is rather impressive, from daggers, nunchucks and swords to spears and shurikens. Upgrading to higher-level equipment will also improve your stats. Before using the new outfit in combat, you can try it out in the training room. The more powerful stuff you wear and the more skills you learn in the process the better are your odds against the most dangerous of the bosses.

The fight goes on

After the loud success of the original Shadow Fight, the studio launched a new version, Shadow Fight 2, with improved graphics, sleeker combat system and new perks. According to the rumors, there is a third chapter of the franchise on the way. In general, the Shadow Fight series is a decently designed fighting game with a thrilling gameplay. It is constantly updated, with new weapons and enemies added over time. Different fighting styles and game modes won’t leave you bored while jailbroken versions will give you access to rare items and endless money.
